Our journey began in one of the Cocoon Villas — a round, architectural nest tucked beside a waterfall. Here, the days started slow with morning light dancing on the walls and the sounds of nature providing the only alarm clock we needed. From there, we wandered through the resort, falling more in love with its poetic calm and visionary detail.
We had the rare honor of being the very first guests to stay in Ulaman’s new 2-bedroom Grand Jewel Villa—a three-story retreat perched above rice fields and bathed in golden light. Designed for indulgence and stillness alike, the villa boasts a panoramic bathtub (decorated in flower petals), private balconies, and a sense of openness that whispers luxury without ever shouting it. Watching the sunset here felt like a slow exhale.
A highlight of our stay was the morning Melukat water blessing—a traditional Balinese purification ceremony that took place beside the resort’s private waterfall. Immersing ourselves in local rituals made our experience feel not just beautiful, but deeply rooted. We also indulged in a private massage at the top of the Grand Jewel Villa, surrounded by breeze and birdsong. It was more than a treatment; it was a return to self.
