Life on Reconnect Island moves to the beat of the ocean. Days begin with the sound of waves against the shore and end with orange skies melting into the sea. There are no schedules here—just the invitation to slow down, to feel more deeply, and to savor every breath.
We stayed in a breezy beachfront bungalow, steps from the water, where morning coffee tasted better with salt air and sunrise. With nature always in view, we felt something rare: real silence.
Reconnect Island is also an official SSI dive center, making it an ideal spot to begin (or continue) your diving journey. Whether you’re taking your first breath underwater or exploring vibrant coral reefs with certified guides, the experience is both humbling and exhilarating. The underwater world here is untouched, richly biodiverse, and as magical as the island above.
Meals are shared, nourishing, and always made with care. Much of the produce comes from nearby villages, supporting local communities and honoring traditional ways. Conversations happen naturally here—between guests, hosts, and the sea. It’s not about performance. It’s about presence.
At Reconnect, the name is the mission. This island doesn’t demand anything of you. It simply holds space for you to remember what matters. Whether that’s diving deeper, sleeping longer, or watching the light change across the water—it’s all welcome here.
We left lighter, clearer, and already longing to return.
Reconnect Island is accessible via charter flight or local connections to Ampana or Luwuk, Central Sulawesi. Discover more at reconnect.id
